Meet the Code : Team

Unjennie

With a lifelong passion for fashion and design, Unjennie’s journey began sewing clothes at an early age, inspired and supported by her mother. She studied fashion, garment technology, and needlework, honing her skills in dressmaking and alterations. After years of working for high-end designers and running her own studios, she specialises in Bridal wear, bringing expert craftsmanship, problem-solving, and approaches each gown with refined detail.

Lauren

Lauren’s passion for fashion and construction was sparked working alongside her mother (unjennie). With a strong background in garment construction and a talent for intricate applique and beading work, she blends technical expertise with a commitment to delivering personalised, designer-quality bridal alterations. Her goal is to offer brides a bespoke experience tailored to their unique style and needs.

Alex

From a young age, Alex's creativity found expression through art, sculpture, and design which brings a strong artistic eye. This is most clearly reflected in the carefully curated design and aesthetic of our Code : Bridal showroom. When he's not tinkering with showroom improvements you may spot him in the background, tending to much of the the day-to-day running of Code : Bridal.

our story

The past

Jennie has dedicated over 20 years to the bridal industry, with Lauren by her side for the past 15, both specialising exclusively in alterations and bespoke made-to-measure work. Between them, there’s little they haven’t seen, sewn, or styled. Their journey has been filled with laughter, tears, pressure, pride, and unforgettable moments, all woven into the fabric of their reputation. Over the years, their expert craftsmanship earned them the trust of countless brides and local boutiques alike, who regularly sought out their signature bespoke alteration services.

But as demand grew and timelines tightened, their schedule became increasingly full, leaving little room for expansion or new opportunities. That’s when the idea began to take shape: what if they could offer more than just exceptional bespoke alterations? What if they could prevent brides from facing the stress of last-minute fittings or navigating complex alterations on a gown that was never quite right to begin with? What if they could shape the entire bridal journey from the very first moment, curating wedding dresses that not only inspire but are chosen with craftsmanship, practicality, and personalisation in mind? What if they could build something truly their own… and so, Code : Bridal was born.

The present

So we began to put pen to paper by carefully crafting a vision for how we wanted our bridal boutique to feel. We took the time to define our core values, the heart behind our services, and exactly why we believe Code : Bridal should be your go-to destination for a truly personal bridal experience. We hope that many of these ideas and sentiments have been felt throughout your time on our website.

It was during the foundation-laying stage of building the business that Alex joined the team, he stepped in and took on much of the paperwork, (it’s me, I’m literally writing this right now… Hi!), systems, and behind-the-scenes operations. This allowed Jennie and Lauren to focus fully on what they do best: creating exquisitely made to measured garments and beautifully altered bridal dresses with care, precision, and soul.

The code : showroom

Once the foundations were laid and our vision was clearly defined, our attention naturally turned to bringing the showroom to life. This was where Alex truly got to shine, taking the lead in translating the ideas established into a physical space that reflected everything Code : Bridal stands for. We didn’t just want a boutique, we wanted an experience that would leave a lasting impression the moment a bride walks through the door. Because, in our eyes, a significant and emotional investment like a wedding dress deserves an environment that feels equally elevated, elegant, and intentional.

We envisioned a space that felt both inspiring and inviting, beautiful yet functional. Airy and open, the boutique features oversized fitting rooms designed with plenty of space to move freely, whether you're slipping into bridal dress for the first time or returning for your bespoke fittings. Our signature alterations service is the heartbeat of what we do, and we made sure that this was reflected in every detail. The fitting area is thoughtfully designed to match the same high standards as the bridal experience, with no corners cut on size, comfort, or finish. After all, alterations are not an afterthought here, they're part of what Code : Bridal was built on and what we’re renowned for.

Instead of following traditional Bridal shop norms, we’ve embraced a clean, modern and minimalistic aesthetic with just the right amount of charm and individuality. Curved archways lead into each dressing room, complemented by a curved reception and a sweeping curve to highlight the centered back wall rail that elegantly displays our collection. Natural light and soft, neutral yet warm tones set a calm, welcoming environment. The decor continues this visual language: plush boucle seating, warm organic textures, oversized mirrors that open up the space, and statement lighting that casts a soft glow over our centre table display, delicate wedding dresses and decor. Every element has been chosen to ensure the spotlight stays where it belongs, on the bride, and on the wedding dress that just might be the one.

The Future

Like many passionate creators, we have big dreams for what the future holds and while we don’t want to be just another brand that talks about “what’s to come,” today, we’re making an exception. The truth is, Code : Bridal is still in its early chapters. Rome wasn’t built in a day, and neither will Code :

Our vision is to be more than just a place where you find your dream wedding dress. We want to create a brand to stand the test of time, known for its quality, luxury, warmth, personality, and attention to detail. A name that brides recognise not only for beautiful wedding dresses, but for the unforgettable journey we help shape. 

There’s still so much we plan to do: from expanding and evolving our curated wedding dress and accessory collections, to enhancing the showroom with more mirrors, lighting, displays, decor, and finishing touches that reflect our identity.

Beyond the physical space, we want to build a community where brides feel comfortable to share, to engage, to be celebrated and to build their dream bridal journey. To become a trusted and inspiring source of information, where you can turn to for styling advice, fashion inspiration, fitting and alteration tips, practical know-how, with a few laughs and giggles along the way. We also would love to give back to our very brides who have helped shape our journey, from where we started to where we’re headed, through our resources, special events, and ongoing support. Lastly, we dream of preserving and passing on the art and craftsmanship that is bespoke tailoring and bridal seamstressing, a skill that’s becoming all too rare.

Let this note serve as a time capsule of our intentions. One day, we hope to look back on this paragraph and smile, not because it’s still relevant, but because we’ve outgrown it. With your support, our lovely brides, friends, and Code : Family, we turned every ‘what if’ into ‘we did.’
